Wine Review: This medium purple colored Malbec from Susana Balbo opens with a black raspberry and craisin bouquet with hints of funk and cedar. On the palate, this wine is medium bodied with medium acidity. The mouthfeel is round and savory. The flavor profile is a tart red plum and craisin blend with notes of black pepper, oak, and licorice. There are also hints of stony minerality and a touch of black cherry towards the end. The finish is rather dry, and its moderate tannins stick around for quite some time. This good value Malbec would pair well with a juicy Angus burger off the grill this summer. Enjoy - Ken

Winemaker Notes: A fresh, pure expression of the varietal, with aromas of violets, cherries, mocha, and spice. Juicy tannins and balanced acidity complement perfectly with ripe fruit flavors, while a subtle hint of oak adds complexity. Pair with lamb kabobs or hamburgers.
