Wine Review: This blood red colored Merlot based wine from Tapiz opens with an inviting blueberry and red currant bouquet with hints of a pencil shaving, rose petals, and wet stone. On the palate, this wine is medium plus bodied with integrated medium plus acidity. The mouthfeel is well-balanced, velvety, supple, and graceful. The flavor profile is a black plum and oak blend with notes of tobacco and green tea. We also detected hints of graphite, mulberry, and a touch of light fig. The finish is dry, and its flavors, acidity, and moderate dusty tannins stick around for quite some time. We would pair this very approachable red blend with a beef wellington. Enjoy - Ken and Mark

Winemaker Notes: This dark red colored wine expresses maximum intensity on the nose, finesse, elegance, and harmony generated by our terroir. On the nose: notes of fresh red fruits, raspberries, cassis, and truffles accompanied by delicate spicy hints. Its oak aging brings aromas of coffee and chocolate with fruity notes typical of this varietal of San Pablo Estate. The palate is intense, with sweet and elegant tannins. A long finish, hard to forget. A wine that represents the art of precision from the vineyard to the glass.
