Wine Review: This midnight purple colored Cabernet Sauvignon based wine from Tapiz opens with a black cherry and red licorice bouquet with hints of menthol, cinnamon, prune, and tobacco. On the palate, this wine is full bodied with integrated medium plus acidity. The mouthfeel is well-balanced, round, polished, and supple. The flavor profile is a cassis and tobacco blend with notes of cedar, raspberry coulis, and cinnamon. We also detected hints of nutmeg, lingonberry, and stony minerality. The finish is dry, and its flavors, acidity, and moderate chewy tannins are nice sustained. We would pair this red blend with New York strip steak. Enjoy - Ken and Mark
Winemaker Notes: This bright red colored wine expresses the maximum intensity on the nose, finesse, elegance, and harmony generated by our terroir. On the nose: notes of fresh red fruits, raspberries, cassis and truffes accompanied by delicate spicy hints. Its oak aging brings aromas of coffee and chocolate amalgamated with fruity notes typical of this varietal of San Pablo Estate. The palate is intense, with sweet and elegant tannins. A long finish, hard to forget. A wine that represents the art of precision from the vineyard to the glass.
