Wine Review: If you have never tried the Pericone grape from Sicily, this is a great place to start. This offering is dark ruby colored and opens with a turned earth and mushroom bouquet with a hint of black cherry. On the palate, this wine is medium bodied, nicely balanced, smooth and graceful. The flavor profile is a tasty gentle black cherry with notes of strawberry licorice and red plum. There is a little bit of earthy herb and oak. This is very quaffable and will be a crowd pleaser. I would pair it with slow cooker Sunday sauce over farfalle. Enjoy - Ken
Winemaker Notes: A selection from the historical San Lucio vineyard, provided new vines to enable the making of this one, rich in polyphenols and spicy aromas, evoking memories of ancient wine tradition.
