Wine Review: This medium purple colored Sangiovese based wine opens with an inviting ripe black cherry and plum bouquet with hints of raspberry, tobacco, black licorice and fresh herbs. On the palate, this wine is medium plus bodied, balanced, round and a tad mouthwatering. The flavor profile is a mild cedar and crushed stone influenced plum, oolong tea and sun-dried tomato blend. I also detected hints of black olive, tart black cherries and a touch of red currant mixed in. The finish is dry and its moderate grippy tannins linger nicely. This wine is meant for food. I would pair it with marinated lamb kabobs or braised short ribs. Enjoy – Ken

Winemaker Notes: Medium-deep saturated ruby. Multifaceted nose offers blackberry, dark chocolate and coffee along with vanilla and pepper and an elegant mineral quality. Suave and stylish, with a lush texture. A perfect complement to steak au poivre or mushroom risotto with truffle oil.
