Wine Review: This deep purple colored Cabernet Franc from the Stagecoach Vineyard is incredible! It opens with a black currant and blackberry bouquet with a hint of black cherry, black tea and cinnamon. On the palate, this wine is full bodied, very well-balanced, rich and juicy. The flavor profile is an extracted blackberry and blueberry blend with notes of nicely integrated minerality and oak. We also detected hints of black tea and anise. The tannins do creep into the mid-palate, but that just adds to the explosion of fun flavors in your mouth. The finish is rather dry and its fruit flavors and big dusty tannins build-up and last for a very very long time. This Cab Franc is a true fireplace and cigar wine for those that partake. With food, we would certainly decant this wine and serve it with duck confit or Jiko’s wild boar tenderloin. Enjoy – Ken and Dave

Winemaker Notes: Color: Dark and shiny black ink with touches of iris, violet and pink ballet slipper on the rim.
Nose: Deep nose with touches of cedar, blackberry reduction, plums, roast rub and blackberry preserve, lingering on salt crystals, dark cherries, graphite and rosemary.
Palate: Big entrance evolving on a fresh mid-palate with freshly picked black fruit, lingering on fruit pits and volcanic rocks.
