Wine Review: This slight opaque purple colored Carignan based blend from Thibido opens with a red licorice and black cherry bouquet with hints of rose petals and eucalyptus. On the palate, this wine is medium bodied with medium plus acidity. The mouthfeel is balanced, round and bright. The flavor profile is a pomegranate and red plum blend with notes of stony minerality. We also detected some hints of strawberry. The finish is dry, and its flavors, acidity, and moderate tannins are nicely extended. We would pair this red blend with a grilled bison burger or with grilled German sausages. Enjoy - KWGTP

Winemaker Notes: In the glass, Rootbound glows a deep, inky purple that hints at its richness. Aromas of purple Jolly Rancher, black licorice, and dark berry coulis swirl lifted by notes of smoked meats and a dusting of cocoa. On the palate, it shows off a spicy, dry edge with bright streaks of Bing cherry, raspberry, and strawberry, wrapped in a soft, round mouth with juicy acidity to keep the wine lively. Concentrated fruit along with balanced acidity and firm tannins, this wine has a finish that lingers with a satisfying mix of fruit, spice, and earth‑a wine that feels both familiar and thrillingly new.
