Wine Review: This intriguing golden straw colored Roussanne from California's central coast displays aromas which include honeysuckle, white peach, lemongrass, chamomile tea along with a hint of almond croissant. On the palate, it has a medium-plus body with integrated medium acidity. The mouthfeel is slightly creamy and supple. I also found it to be bright, textured, and polished. The flavor profile is a Bartlett pear, honeycomb, baking spice, gentle minerality blend along with notes of fresh apricot and chamomile tea. There is also a hint of sage in the mix. The acidity and flavors linger for quite a while in the finish. Serve lightly chilled with Paupiettes of Sole stuffed with crab and lobster in a cognac sauce. - Mark
Winemaker Notes: Pour a glass, and the first thing you’ll notice is its golden hay color, shimmering like late afternoon sun. On the nose, delicate aromas of honeycomb, green apple, and lemon zest give way to deeper notes of roasted almond and wet stone. The palate is luxurious yet precise. It is silky and full-bodied, with a creamy texture that's lifted by a gentle thread of acidity. A touch of new oak adds elements of baking spice and a long, refined finish. While irresistibly drinkable now, its layered complexity suggests graceful aging for those patient enough to cellar a few bottles.
