Wine Review: This dark violet colored red blend opens with a black cherry and plum bouquet. On the palate, this wine is full bodied, slightly acidic and juicy. The flavor profile is a delicious ripe black raspberry and boysenberry blend with notes nicely integrated minerality and oak. We also detected hints of milk chocolate and stewed plum. The finish is dry and its moderate tannins stick around for a very long time. Everyone loved this wine and it paired perfectly with beef Wellington. Enjoy- KWGTP

Winemaker Notes: The established 1885 has three important components. The juicy, crushed black fruit core comes from the Evangelho Vineyard - 120 year-old Zinfandel plantings. The wine's ethereal, wild berry aromatics speak eloquently of one of the oldest plots in California - the gnarly, head-trained rows of Lucchesi Vineyard – 125 year old spicy black cherry Carignane and the exotic Spinelli Mataro with aromas of crushed red fruits, raspberry liqueur, thyme and underbrush. Dense, chewy and massively concentrated on the attack, packed with raspberries, dark plum and black cherries, still perfectly light on its feet - speaking volumes to these incredible 120+ year-old plants and the textbook low pH vibrancy of the fruit. A healthy splash of darkly muscled Petite Sirah paints this mouthwatering blend a deep purple.
