Wine Review: This midnight purple colored Petit Verdot from Titus is Excellent! It opens with a black cherry and acai berry bouquet with hints of chocolate and violets. On the palate, this wine is full bodied with medium acidity. The mouthfeel is well balanced and tame for a Petit Verdot. The flavor profile is a tasty stewed plum, blueberry, and stony minerality blend with notes of acai berry and black licorice. I also detected hints of black pepper, blackberry, and green olive. The finish is dry, and its well-managed tannins are very nicely extended. Titus winemaker Stephen Cruzan did a terrific job taming this Petit Verdot. Everyone that tried this wine really loved it. We would decant it in the near term and serve it with Roy’s Rib roast! Bravo! - Ken

Winemaker Notes: A classic expression of Petit Verdot, the 2018 Titus shows off aromas of blueberry, exotic fruit, glove leather, violets and herbs de Provence. The wine fills the palate with robust fine grain tannins that are rounded and draw out nuances of dark berry, cherry, rose water, fruit leather and anise. Long and voluptuous the finish is underscored by toasty pie crust, dried sage, and radiant spice box notes. Enjoy now through 2033.
