Wine Review: This clear and pale gold colored Chardonnay from Toil in Oregon opens with a lemon verbena and pineapple skin bouquet with hints of vanilla crème brulee and light honey. On the palate, this wine is medium plus bodied with integrated medium plus acidity. The mouthfeel is nicely balanced, silky, crisp, and zesty for a Chard. The flavor profile is green apple and light lemon blend with notes of white pepper and green tea. We also detected hints of saline, pineapple, and a touch of dried coconut. The finish is dry, and its flavors and acidity is snappy and lasts for a while. We would pair this versatile, and food friendly Chard with a Ritz Cracker encrusted baked haddock or a seafood casserole. Enjoy - KWGTP
Winemaker Notes: The color is reminiscent of sun-highlighted straw bales. Amazing nose of pear, peach, and vanilla, with hints of honeysuckle, banana, buttered popcorn, and ocean brine. This is matched on the palate with a texture that is both round and bright, revealing notes of lemon curd, white peach, and toasted almonds. The long, mineral-laced finish is smooth and balanced.
