Wine Review: This slightly cloudy and midnight purple colored Shiraz from Torbreck opens with a cocoa powder and boysenberry bouquet with hints of blackberry and espresso. On the palate, this wine is medium plus bodied with medium plus acidity. The mouthfeel is balanced, dense, and little lush. The flavor profile is a blackberry and black licorice blend with notes of tobacco and stone dust. We also detected hints of oak, tar, and candied violet. The finish is dry, and its grippy tannins are nicely sustained. We would pair this Shiraz with smoked beef ribs. Enjoy - Ken & Mark
Winemaker Notes: Deep purple, almost black. Intense black fruits such as satsuma plum, blackberry and boysenberry. Dark cocoa, vanilla bean, and maraschino liqueur. Plush, soft, and textural with a deep core of fruits supported by gentle yet concentrated tannins and long refined acidity.
