Wine Review: This very dark red colored Petite Sirah from Trentadue opens with a very attractive blueberry bouquet with hints off blackberry, gingerbread and oak. On the palate, this wine is full bodied, balanced, round and lush. The flavor profile is a boysenberry and oak blend with notes of black licorice. We also detected hints stewed black plum and black tea. The finish is dry and its solid tannins build-up and stick around for quite a while. The Panel suggested pairing this Petite Sirah with short ribs. Enjoy – KWGTP

Winemaker Notes: The 2017 Trentadue “Hearts Desire” Petite Sirah is the first vintage of our new vision for the Trentadue line of wines. This is truly a winemakers blend of all handpicked barrels. All 8 barrels of Petite Sirah came entirely from Block 405. The 2017 Petite Sirah opens with a beautiful nose of concentrated blueberries and blackberries that lead to a full-bodied mouthfeel and engagingly soft tannins. The aging in 60% new oak barrels brings in delicious smoky, toasty and chocolatey aromas that blend in perfectly with the fruit. If stored properly, this wine will give you the most enjoyment in 5-8 years.
