Wine Review: This dark ruby colored Shiraz opens with a blackberry and old oak bouquet with hints of boysenberry and a touch of clove. On the palate, this wine is medium bodied with integrated medium acidity. The mouthfeel is balanced, velvety smooth and bright for Shiraz. The flavor profile is tasty blackberry and black currant blend with notes black olive and stewed black plum. We also detected hints of clove and anise. The finish is dry and its mild dusty tannins, flavors, and acidity drift away nicely. The Tasting Panel would pair this Shiraz with slow cooked beef brisket. Enjoy – KWGTP

Winemaker Notes: Black on black core color. It opens with a classic McLaren Vale bouquet. Coffee grind, fresh plum, mocha, peppermint, roasted meats, sassafras and fire smoke. The palate is typically sweet and coating, this powers along very nicely before the tannins take over. The wine is more on texture and drive style than the over and caressing sweet style typified by so many wines from McLaren Vale. The fruits drive but most importantly the structure, there is a real firmness to the late palate and the tannins help resolve the wine beautifully
