Wine Review: This Italian blend is well-made and delicious. In the glass it is an opaque dark ruby color, and has spicy dark fruits on the nose, with aromas of black currant, blackberry, pecan shells, burnt match stick and tomato stem. On the palate, it is medium-plus bodied with medium acidity. The mouthfeel is silky and soft with good balance. I found flavors of black currant, tart cherry, clove, black pepper, dark chocolate, earthy black tea and mild oak. There are grippy tannins in the long dry finish. I would pair this very good wine with a wood-grilled Florentine steak with friends. - Mark

Winemaker Notes: Luminous red with garnet highlights. It opens with a very generous bouquet featuring with ripe red berry fruit and sour cherry preserves. The flavors are reminiscent of ripe red fruits and black cherry jam. A wine that is soft and elegant, long-lasting. Pair with a charcuterie antipasto and an assorted cheese platter.
