Wine Review: This dark red colored Zinfandel from Amador County opens with a faint black raspberry bouquet with a hint of sandalwood, leather and fig. On the palate, this wine is medium plus bodied, slightly acidic, juicy and a bit zesty. The flavor profile is a spiced black plum with notes of toasted oak and black pepper. We also detected hints of black licorice and black cherry. The finish is dry and its acidity, flavors and a touch of heat linger for quite a while. The Panel suggested pairing this this very good Zin with bourbon marinated steak tips. Enjoy – KWGTP
