Wine Review: This dark red colored Zinfandel from the Black Sears Vineyard opens with a raspberry and moist pipe tobacco with hints of blackberry and dried coconut flakes. On the palate, this wine is medium bodied with medium acidity. The mouthfeel is round and very smooth for a wine from Howell Mountain. The flavor profile is a black fig, ripe blackberry, and black plum blend with notes of dried coconut flakes & dark chocolate. I also detected some hints of hickory, cinnamon and gentle minerality. The finish is dry with very soft tannins for a Zin. It is food friendly and ready to roll. I would pair it in the near term with a grilled flat iron steak. Enjoy – Ken

Winemaker Notes: Dark garnet in color, with its familiar scent of cracked black pepper from Napa County's highest vineyard combine with rich oak and concentrated blackberry fruit as equal partners in this long-finishing 2018 single-vineyard Zinfandel.
