Wine Review: This inky purple colored Malbec from V. Sattui opens with a blueberry pop tart bouquet with a hint of black cherry and moist pipe tobacco. On the palate, this wine is full bodied, slightly acidic, mouthwatering, smooth and juicy. The flavor profile is black plum and mineral blend with notes of blackberry and oak. I also detected hints of black licorice and a touch of black cherry. The finish is dry and its flavors and gentle fine tannins fade away nicely. This Malbec is food friendly and would pair nicely with a bison burger. Enjoy – Ken

Winemaker Notes: This deep garnet-purple colored 2018 Malbec shows bold expressions of black raspberries, blackberry and sautéed herbs with wafts of tobacco leaf. Medium to full-bodied, the rich, plush fruit is off-set by freshness and herbal flavors to the finish.
