Wine Review: This deep purple colored Zinfandel from V. Sattui opens with a fragrant stewed black plum and boysenberry bouquet with hints of wet stone, pomegranate, and herbal tea. On the palate, this wine is medium bodied with medium plus acidity. The mouthfeel is smooth and nicely balanced. The flavor profile is stewed black plum and crushed stone minerality with notes of blackberry and green tea. We also detected hints of mild cherry cola. The finish is dry, and its dusty tannins were nicely extended. The Tasting Panel decant this wine for a bit to let its fruit flavors evolve. Then we would pair it with duck confit. Enjoy – KWGTP
