Wine Review: This ruby colored Zinfandel from Contra Costa County opens with a fragrant brambly berry bouquet with hints of molasses and raisin. On the palate, this wine is medium bodied with medium plus acidity. The flavor profile is a ripe red raspberry, cola, and spice cake blend with notes of stewed black plum and raisin. I also picked up some hints of molasses and green tea mixed in. The finish is dry and its ripe fruit flavors and tannins are nicely extended. I would pair this old school Zin with a messy rack of barbecue ribs. Enjoy - Ken

Winemaker Notes: The 2020 Duarte Vineyard Zinfandel has expressive aromas of dried lavender followed by soothing notes of eucalyptus. It very graciously crosses the palate with a wave of smooth roundness and balanced acidity with a ripe berry flavor so good- you almost forget you’re drinking wine!
