Wine Review: This dark red colored Zinfandel from V. Sattui opens with an inviting loganberry and cedar bouquet with a hint of cranberry. On the palate, this wine is medium bodied with medium plus acidity. The mouthfeel is balanced, round, bright and savory. The flavor profile is a black pepper, stewed red plum, clove and cinnamon blend with notes of loganberry and loam. I also detected a hint of cola towards the end. The finish is dry and its moderate tannins build-up and stick around for quite some time. This Zin went perfectly with my ribeye steak au poivre with a red wine, sauteed shallots and mushroom pan sauce. Enjoy - Ken
