Wine Review: This very dark garnet colored GSM from V. Sattui opens with a black pepper and blackberry bouquet with hints of dried coconut, menthol, and oak. On the palate, this wine is medium plus bodied with integrated medium plus acidity. The mouthfeel is nicely balanced, smooth, and very fruit forward. The flavor profile is a spice drop, raspberry, and black pepper blend with notes of cranberry and oak. I also detected hints of black cherry and black olive. The finish is dry, and its flavors, acidity, and well-managed and friendly moderate tannins drift away nicely. I would drink this GSM blend in the near term with Theresa's homemade meatloaf.
