Wine Review: This translucent dark red colored Zinfandel from V. Sattui opens with a red raspberry and toasted coconut bouquet with hints of Christmas fruitcake and old oak. On the palate, this wine is medium bodied and integrated plus acidity. The mouthfeel is bright, fresh, and mouthwatering. The flavor profile is stewed red plum and tart red cherry blend with notes of coconut flakes and red bell pepper. We also detected hints of nutmeg and black pepper. The finish is dry, and its flavors, acidity, and its moderate dusty tannins linger for a bit before drifting away. We would pair this Zin with beef stroganoff or turkey tetrazzini. Enjoy - KWGTP

Winemaker Notes: Our 2022 Rocky Ridge Zinfandel is our first release from the acclaimed Rockpile AVA in northern Sonoma County. Rockpile has fewer than 160 acres planted to vine, making it one of the most exclusive and sought-after AVAs in California. With no wineries located within the Rockpile AVA, the fruit speaks entirely for itself. Subtle floral aromas lead to candied blackberries and blueberries in this rich, yet elegant Zin. Layered umami earthiness carries the lingering tannins on the mid-palate through to a deep, gripping finish.
