Wine Review: This dark red colored Zinfandel from VGS was the winner of our recent blind tasting. It opens with a wild blueberry and blackberry bouquet. On the palate, this wine is full bodied, balanced and juicy. The flavor profile is a very tasty blueberry and black fig mix with hints of toasted coconut, blackberry and cedar plank. The finish is dry and its flavors and well-managed tannins fade away nicely. The Panel suggested sipping this Zin by the fireplace. With food we would enjoy this Zin with a cowboy cut prime rib.
