Wine Review: This slightly opaque and dark garnet colored Cabernet Franc from VGS opens with a fragrant black plum bouquet with hints of loam, cilantro, and oak. On the palate, this wine is medium plus bodied with medium plus acidity. The mouthfeel is balanced, round, savory and fresh. The flavor profile is an elderberry and chalky minerality with notes of oak, graphite, and black tea. We also detected hints of pine and mild blackberry. The finish is dry and its big and bold dusty tannins stick around for a very long time. We would decant this Cab Franc for quite some time before pairing with burnt ends. Enjoy – KWGTP
