Wine Review: This dark ruby colored Zinfandel from VGS Chateau Potelle opens with a cherry and cinnamon bouquet with hints of stewed plum and fig. On the palate, this wine is medium bodied with integrated medium acidity. The mouthfeel is nicely balanced, very smooth, and gentle for a Zin. The flavor profile is mild black licorice and cinnamon blend with notes of graphite and green tea. We also detected hints of black cherry and cedar. The finish is dry and its flavors, acidity, and its moderate tannins build-up and linger nicely. We would pair this Zin with grilled hanger steak. Enjoy - KWGTP
