Wine Review: This opaque and midnight purple colored Tempranillo from Valenciso is impressive and showing very nicely. It opens with a ripe plum and gentle black raspberry bouquet with a hint of soy. On the palate, this wine is full bodied, nicely balanced and smooth. The flavor profile is a flinty mineral infused blackberry with nicely integrated cedar with hints of plum, date and fig in the background. The finish is dry and its tannins are managed, but are very sticky. This Tempranillo is very steak friendly and would pair well with chuck-eye steak. Enjoy – Ken

Winemaker Notes: Produced from a high-elevation parcel of 75 year old Tempranillo, aged over five years in cement tanks prior to aging in lightly-toasted second-year Caucasus oak barrels for 40 months. A marvel of elegance and minerality with mouth-filling texture and aroma, retaining remarkable freshness and the capacity to age and improve in bottle for many years.
