Wine Review: Where the Villa Sandi Prosecco DOC should have been an Extra Dry, the Prosecco Superiore DOCG would have benefitted from being a Brut. Ripe peaches, sweet honeysuckles, and vanilla bean jump out of the glass. The palate has notes of vanilla cake, ripe navel oranges, and hints of caramel. The medium sized bubbles do their best to cut through the ripeness of this Prosecco but they are overwhelmed by the wine’s body and sweetness. The finish could have been a bit cleaner and more refreshing, as it tends to sit a bit heavier than most wines of this quality. Leads me to believe there might be a bit of the Cartizze fruits in this blend. Overall well done, however, it needs a few finishing touches to be great. - Nicolay

Winemaker Notes: Golden apple, stone fruit and honey aromas and flavors are balanced by lively acidity and a mouthwatering finish. Pair with rich, spicy foods, fruit based desserts or nutty cheeses.
