Wine Review: Deep and dark, this Spanish Rioja is quite good. It's a bright medium red color, and sports a bouquet of black cherry, licorice, saddle leather and dried herbs. On the palate, loads of dark fruit and grippy chunky tannins. It has moderate acidity, medium-plus body, and is smooth, round, and fresh. There are flavors blackberry, black plum, cinnamon, black pepper, and earthy dried leaves. The finish is dry, and moderate in length. It would go well with spicy Italian sausage lasagna. – Mark

Winemaker Notes: The 2020 Vina Eguia Tempranillo is a bright cherry red color, with a nose of intense red fruit aromas, combined with subtle scents from oak ageing featuring vanilla, coconut, balsamic notes, and licorice. The palate is fresh, full, and very savory, with a vibrant structure. It has a pleasant and quite a long finish. Ideal with all type of meat, including beef and other red meats. It is also very good with Spanish "tapas" and tomato-based pizzas.
