Wine Review: This dark ruby colored Shiraz from Adelaide Hills opens with a fragrant blackberry and oak bouquet with a hint of boysenberry and smoked meat. On the palate, this wine is medium bodied, round and juicy. The flavor profile is a smoked meat and extracted blackberry blend with notes of oak and black pepper and a hint of stewed plum mixed in. The finish is dry and its acidity and medium tannins linger for a bit after the wine is gone. This Shiraz would pair well with rustic and hearty meal. I would pair it with beef bourguignon. Winemaker Notes: The 2017 H Syrah is deep red with bright purple hues. It is perfumed with violet florals, rhubarb and cherry. Fruit forward with fine tannins and flavors of pomegranate, cardamom and satsuma plum on the palate, this wine is delicate in texture and elegant in structure. This wine is ideally served at slightly chilled with pulled pork tacos or Peking duck.
