Wine Review: This opaque and very deep garnet colored Cabernet Sauvignon from Whitehall Lane opens with a musty black currant and fig bouquet with hints of black cherry, violet, dark chocolate, and leather. On the palate, this wine is medium bodied with integrated medium plus acidity. The mouthfeel is balanced, round, plush, and delicate. The flavor profile is a graphite and blueberry blend with notes of black raspberry and black licorice. We also detected hints of toasted coconut, milk chocolate, black tea, and baking spice. The finish is dry, and its flavors, tingly acidity and refined mild tannins linger before fading away. We would pair this elegant Cab with Osso buco. Enjoy – KWGTP
Winemaker Notes: This 2022 Leonardini Vineyard is an elegant example of Cabernet Sauvignon from this stunning St. Helena AVA location. It begins on the nose with black currants, blueberry muffin, toasted croissant, graphite, and a touch of spice box. Its balance and mid-palate are most notable, providing long, silky-smooth tannins alongside its dense fruit character. On the palate, it delivers rich red cherries, cassis, cola, and toasted walnuts. The beautiful underlying tannin structure, complexity and ample fruit will evolve over time and age gracefully for 10-15 years.
