Wine Review: Wow, this yellow colored dessert wine from Hermann Wiemer is very impressive. It opens with an apricot and green apple bouquet. On the palate, this wine is full bodied, well balanced, viscous, and syrupy. The flavor profile is a delicious ripe apricot with hints of quince and light grapefruit. The finish is pleasantly sweet and lingers for quite a while. We all felt that this wine is a dessert all by itself. This is a smooth sipper to enjoy with someone special after a formal dinner. Enjoy - Ken

Winemaker Notes: The traditional German classification "trockenbeerenauslese" is used in specific vintages to denote a particular style of dessert wine made exclusively from berries affected by the botrytis mold. Botrytis, or "noble rot," reduces the water content in grapes, leaving intensely concentrated flavors and sugars. The meticulous selection of individual berries ensures the highest purity while the appropriate balance of alcohol and sweetness forms a graceful wine that is luscious and satisfying. A beautiful nose with honeyed citrus and lychee yields to mouth-coating flavors of clover honey and apricot.
