Wine Review: This clear and dark red colored Pinot Noir from Woodenhead opens with a red raspberry and iris bouquet with hints of Christmas spices and red plum. On the palate, this wine is medium bodied with integrated medium plus acidity. The mouthfeel is nicely balanced, smooth, and seamless. The flavor profile is a red raspberry and red cherry blend with notes of orange peel and mulling spice. We also detected hints of red licorice. The finish is dry, and its flavors, acidity, and fine tannins drift away nicely. We would pair this versatile and delicate Pinot Noir with veal saltimbocca. Enjoy - KWGTP
Winemaker Notes: I am just getting reacquainted with the vineyard. There are new owners and a different energy; still close to my heart though…Medium to light ruby in color, creamy raspberry, and pennyroyal perfume. Entry is silken with a medium tannin edge, raspberries, loganberries, lemon peel. A bit of mocha and coffee blending with creamy oak. Good acidity… young and then opens in the glass. A sipper with a cheese plate- Toma by Point Reyes, Carmody by Bellwether Farms and Della Fattoria rosemary Meyer lemon sourdough, definitely lamb! - Cheers, Nikolai
