Wine Review: This dark red colored Pinot opens with a smoky oak, pomegranate and mild cherry-cola bouquet. On the palate, this wine is medium bodied, balanced and very approachable. The flavor profile is a bit rustic. It features toasted oak and cherry flavors along with notes of a mocha latte. I also detect a hint of cinnamon stick mixed in as well. The finish is dry and flavor show nice length. I would pair this wine with a Kobe burger smothered with Swiss cheese and sautéed mushrooms. Enjoy - Ken
Winemaker Notes: Wrath is proud to announce the release of EX wines, our updated label that replaces the Ex Anima series. With a name meaning “out of” in Latin, EX speaks to our focus on expressing the personality and characteristics of our Certified Sustainable (SIP) estate vineyard. We harvest these Pinot grapes a bit earlier than other lots to retain bright acidic energy. Berry clusters are hand sorted before crushing and fermenting. During fermentation, 20% of lots experience whole cluster fermentation to add complexity. New French oak is kept to a minimum so that the flavor retains focus on our estate grown fruit.
