Wine Review: This cloudy and dark ruby colored Cabernet Sauvignon from ZD opens with a cassis, toasted coconut, and menthol bouquet with hints of hot cinnamon and clay. On the palate, this wine is full bodied with integrated medium plus acidity. The mouthfeel is balanced and super smooth. The profile is a forward flavor blend of a black raspberry and tobacco with notes of oak and papaya. I also detected hints of boysenberry and vanilla. The finish is dry, and its flavors, acidity and friendly tannins fade away nicely. We would drink this Cabernet Sauvignon in the near term with Coq au vin. Enjoy - Ken and Mark
Winemaker Notes: Produced using 100% certified organic grapes the 2023 Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon boasts a deep, dark purple hue and complex character. Notes of black cherry jam, baking spice, and ripe plum are layered with notes of cigar box, chocolate, and nutmeg. On the palate, the wine is bright and supple and exhibits a lush richness. Soft, balanced tannins creating a nuanced wine that is showing wonderfully now but will also age beautifully with cellaring.
