Wine Review: This opaque and very dark ruby colored Petit Verdot from Zolo opens with a black currant and lilac bouquet with hints of black licorice, ripe black plum, and violets. On the palate, this wine is full bodied with integrated medium plus acidity. The mouthfeel is nicely balanced, fresh, round, lush, and polished. The flavor profile is a black plum, spice, and blackberry blend with notes of anise and black pepper. We also detected hints of black currant, coffee, and faint tobacco. The finish is dry, and its flavors, acidity, and managed moderate tannins drift away nicely. We would pair this Petit Verdot with a porterhouse steak. Enjoy - Ken and Mark
Winemaker Notes: Intense red, almost black. On the nose, black fruits such as blackberry, black currant and blueberries stand out. These fruits are combined with spicy notes such as cloves and graphite. The oak provides notes of vanilla, smoked and coffee. Good structure with a persistent and elegant finish.
