Wine Review: This dark ruby colored Cabernet Franc from Zolo opens with a black raspberry and licorice bouquet with hints of violets and spearmint. On the palate, this wine is medium plus bodied with integrated fresh medium plus acidity. The mouthfeel is balanced, round, seamless and mouthcoating. The flavor profile is a black cherry and mild tobacco blend with notes of black raspberry, oolong tea, and black pepper. We also detected hints of stony minerality and oak. The finish is dry, and its flavors, acidity, and moderate dusty tannins build-up and stick around for a while. We would decant this good value Cab Franc for a little while before pairing it with steak fajitas or pot roast. Enjoy - Ken and Mark
Winemaker Notes: This intense ruby red colored Cabernet Franc opens with aromas of red fruits such as raspberry and red plum, mixed with subtle floral and herbal notes. It has sweet tannins and a balanced acidity giving freshness. Its passage through the wood contributes complexity, notes of vanilla and chocolate. It is a very elegant wine.
