Wine Review: This deep purple colored Malbec from Zuccardi opens with a violet and boysenberry pie bouquet with hints of blackberry and cola. On the palate, this wine is full bodied with integrated plus acidity. The mouthfeel is nicely balanced, smooth, seamless, and fresh. The flavor profile is a stewed black plum and black tea blend with notes of blueberry and black licorice. We also detected hints of tobacco, blackberry, clove, and graphite. The finish is dry, and its flavors, acidity, and polished and bold dusty tannins linger and last for a while. We would pair this Malbec with crispy whole roast duck or braised short ribs.
