Wine Review: Give this medium golden yellow colored Finger Lakes Riesling a good extended swirl to allow the struck match smell to blow off. After that an inviting blend of lime, wet slate, apple peel, nectarine, and honeydew melon aromas arrive. There's a silky-smooth mouthfeel, along with medium body and medium-plus acidity on the palate. The wine is generous, balanced, just slightly off-dry, fresh, and approachable. The aromas continue in the flavors, which include honeydew melon, nectarine, nectarine pit minerality, lime, and a hint of tarragon. The finish is refreshing and long with a touch of spice. Serve lightly chilled with an apricot jam glazed pork roast. - Mark

The fall is a perfect time to plan a visit to Virginia Wine country. Ken and the KWG Tasting Panel have been covering the winning wines from the Virginia Governor’s Cup for years.
