Wine Review: This hazy and dark garnet colored Cabernet Sauvignon from Barlow opens with a fragrant cassis and cedar bouquet with hints of blackberry and licorice. On the palate, this wine is full bodied with integrated medium plus acidity. The mouthfeel is balanced, smooth, seamless, and savory. The flavor profile is a cassis and cedar blend with notes of licorice and graphite. I also detected hints of blackberry, tobacco, and clove. The finish is dry, and its flavors, acidity and dusty tannins are very nicely sustained. I would pair this very good Cab with Roy's prime rib roast. Enjoy - Ken
Winemaker Notes: The 2019 growing season saw a lengthy, mild summer, with no huge heat spikes, flavors were able to become extremely expressive throughout the vintage. The abundant hang time for the grapes proved to result in amazing color and structure as well. You will see this in the 2019 Barlow Cabernet Sauvignon with its robust ruby red color. On the palate you will enjoy a strong but soft structure with dark fruits complemented by notes from our French oak barrels, such as vanilla and nutmeg. The aroma complements the palate nicely with hints of plum and mocha.
