Wine Review: This slightly hazy and dark red colored Tannat from Garzon in Uruguay opens with a black cherry and cardamom bouquet with hints of lingonberry. On the palate, this wine is medium bodied with medium acidity. The mouthfeel is nicely balanced, smooth, and polished. The flavor profile is a stewed black plum and oak blend with notes of cassis, stone dust, and black tea. I also detected hints of black cherry and dried herbs. The finish is dry, and its flavors, acidity, and dusty tannins are nicely sustained. I would pair this very good value Tannat with your favorite pub burger. Enjoy – Ken
Winemaker Notes: Deep purple in color, this Tannat fresh aromas reminiscent of red and black fruits such as plums and raspberries on a spice-flavored aroma. It has a great personality in mouth. Its ripe tannins and its minerality make it a terroir wine of great identity. This is an ideal Tannat to pair with roasted game meat.
