Wine Review: This slightly opaque and midnight purple colored Petite Sirah from VGS opens with a Hawaiian punch and maraschino cherry bouquet with hints of blueberry, cinnamon, and leather. The mouthfeel is balanced, round, juicy, and fresh with nice tension. The flavor profile is a ripe blueberry and gentle black licorice blend with notes of black pepper, Juicy Fruit gum, and oak. We also detected hints of green tea, chalky minerality, and pomegranate. The finish is dry, and its flavors, acidity, and well-managed dusty and polished tannins are nicely sustained. We would pair this Petite Sirah with braised short ribs. Enjoy - KWGTP
