Wine Review: This clear and pale straw colored dry-styled Riesling from V. Sattui opens with a wax candy and lemon bouquet with hints of Anjou pear and Vaseline. On the palate, this wine is medium bodied with plus acidity. The mouthfeel is smooth, yet nervy. It is also mouthwatering and zesty. The flavor profile is a graded ginger and grapefruit pith blend with notes of lemon pith and mango Life Saver. We also detected hints of saline, lime, and white tea. The finish is dry, and its flavors and acidity linger nicely. We would pair this Riesling with fried fish tacos or fried scallops. Enjoy – KWGTP
Winemaker Notes: Mount Veeder wines are truly a rare gem, making up just one percent of Napa Valley’s total production. That said, our Dry Riesling is bright and expressive, this mountain-grown Riesling captivates with aromas of ripe peach, mango, and a whisper of wet stone. Juicy fruit and citrus zest energize the palate, while crisp acidity adds focus and lift, leading to a long, refreshing finish. A true year-round favorite, it’s lively with grilled shrimp and mango salsa or goat cheese and pear salad, and equally stunning with butternut squash soup or roasted root vegetables as the weather cools.
