Wine Review: This opaque and deep purple colored Carménère from Carmen opens with a black plum and fig bouquet with hints of green bell pepper and blackberry. On the palate, this wine is medium bodied with integrated medium plus acidity. The mouthfeel is balanced, fresh, and round. The flavor profile is a black cherry and cola blend with notes of green bell pepper and black olive. We also detected hints of green peppercorn, boysenberry, and oak. The finish is dry, and its flavors, acidity, and its moderate tannins are long and lingering. We would pair this Carménère with steak frites or steak fajitas. Enjoy - KWGTP
Winemaker Notes: Our Gran Reserva Carmenere has an intense, deep dark purple color. The nose is rich and very true to the variety, showing blackberries, spices, and tobacco. Soft touches of pepper and cedar add complexity. The palate is generous, with supple texture and sweet, smooth tannins. The wine has persistency and great length.
