Wine Review: This clear and light-yellow colored Viognier from Jefferson Vineyards opens with a mild mango and pineapple bouquet with hints of cantaloupe, marzipan, and banana. On the palate, this wine is full bodied with plus acidity. The mouthfeel is round, viscous, fresh, and bright. The flavor profile is a tropical blend of mango and pineapple blend with notes of lime zest and banana. I also detected hints of cinnamon, cantaloupe, and ginger. The finish is dry, and its flavors and acidity linger and last for a very long time. I would pair this Viognier with a homemade five cheese ravioli with a garlic brown butter sauce. Enjoy - KWGTP

Winemaker Notes: A bouquet of honeysuckle, peach, and lime gives way to subtle notes of peach and apricot, finishing with bright citrus notes and a lengthy dry finish. The bright, citrus components of the 2023 Jefferson Vineyards Viognier make it an ideal wine for pairing with a range of white fish dishes, including pan fried sole with lemon butter sauce or monkfish with white beans.

We highly recommend that you check out the six Virginia wineries in this post. We will start from the south near Charlottesville in the Monticello AVA and make our way north. Read This Blog Post
