Wine Review: This clear and very pale coral colored Cab Franc based Dry Rosé from Lamoreaux Landing opens with a tangerine and light pink grapefruit bouquet with hints of apricot and cantaloupe. On the palate, this wine is medium plus bodied with integrated medium plus acidity. The mouthfeel is balanced, round, fresh, and a bit zesty. The flavor profile is a tangerine and lime zest blend with notes of green tea with lemon and chalky minerality. I also detected hints of honeydew melon and white peach. The finish is dry, and its flavors and acidity linger and last for a while. I would serve this refreshing Dry Rosé slightly chilled on a warm summer day. With Food, I would pair it with shrimp tacos. Winemaker Notes: A soft coral hue sets the stage for aromas of pink grapefruit and a crisp, energetic palate of fresh picked berries and citrus zest layered over a soft, creamy edge. Serve with smoked salmon, grilled tuna steak or soft-shelled crab.

Winemaker Interview Series – Stephen Cruzan of Lasseter – April 2026

On Wednesday, April 29, 2026, we had the opportunity to interview Stephen Cruzan again. However, this time Stephen is at a new winery. We interviewed Stephen in July of 2023 when he was the winemaker at Titus. Now Stephen is the winemaker for Lasseter. During the interview we covered three white wines. A 2023 Sauvignon Blanc, a 2023 Sauvignon Blanc and Sémillon blend, and a 2023 Chardonnay. On the red side we covered a 2021 Merlot, a 2023 Malbec, a 2019 Cabernet Sauvignon, and finally their 2021 and 2023 Syrah’s from Moon Mountain. On Wednesday, April 1, 2026, we interviewed Melissa Stackhouse once again. Melissa is the Winemaker at Dutton Goldfield. During the interview, we covered the winery’s 2025 vintage Pinot Blanc and one of their single-vineyard 2023 Chardonnay wines.
