Wine Review: This hazy and dark garnet colored Pinot Noir from Dutton Goldfield opens with a mild black cherry and milk chocolate bouquet with hints of blueberries and cedar. On the palate, this wine is medium plus bodied with integrated medium plus acidity. The mouthfeel is nicely balanced, round, smooth, and approachable. The flavor profile is a tasty mild acai berry and black plum blend with notes of gentle chocolate and black cherry. I also detected hints of cola. The finish is dry, and its flavors, acidity, and mild tannins drift way nicely. I would pair this Pinot Noir with a sage rubbed pork tenderloin. Enjoy - Ken

Winemaker Notes: This rural Pinot Noir invites you in with aromas of black cherry, wild berry compote, and earthy forest floor, accented by notes of juniper and damp redwood on a wet foggy morning. The palate delivers waves of rich, jammy fruit such as dark cherry and ripe berries. Balanced by lively acidity that keeps the wine lifted and bright. Subtle notes of baking spice and black tea unfurl on the finish, carried by fine yet chewy tannins that add depth and structure. This wine’s bold, savory character pairs beautifully with richly layered dishes. Try it with a slow-cooked pork shoulder ragu with cherry tomatoes and herbs over creamy polenta is an ideal match.
