Wine Review: This hazy and very pale garnet colored Pinot Noir from Mauritson opens with a very inviting maraschino cherry and dried strawberry bouquet with hints of cinnamon, cranberry, and dried herbs. On the palate, this wine is medium bodied with medium plus acidity. The mouthfeel is nicely balanced, smooth, bright, layered, and fresh. The flavor profile is a tasty red plum and dried strawberry blend with notes of green tea, black pepper, and clove. We also detected hints of red currant, cinnamon, stony minerality, and red beet. The finish is dry, and its flavors, acidity, and well-managed refined moderate tannins linger nicely. We would pair this Pinot with lamb chops or a grilled cedar plank salmon. Enjoy - KWGTP
