Wine Review: This fresh and enchanting Grüner from the Lehigh Valley in Pennsylvania is a sparkling straw color, and begins with aromas of passionfruit, fresh cut hay, fresh garden herbs, talcum powder, and gardenias. Medium-minus body with medium-plus acidity on the palate, it's balanced, zesty, sophisticated and food friendly. There are flavors of bright lemon, fresh green herbs, white pepper, and green melon with a note of beeswax and a hint of red bell pepper. The finish is refreshing and lingers for a while. Serve chilled with spring pea and asparagus risotto. - Mark

Winemaker Notes: Vivid, herbaceous and mineral on the nose, this lively wine dives into sliced celery, white pepper and lemon thyme on the palate. It’s balanced and fresh yet with good heft.

Winemaker Interview Series – Stephen Cruzan of Lasseter – April 2026

On Wednesday, April 29, 2026, we had the opportunity to interview Stephen Cruzan again. However, this time Stephen is at a new winery. We interviewed Stephen in July of 2023 when he was the winemaker at Titus. Now Stephen is the winemaker for Lasseter. During the interview we covered three white wines. A 2023 Sauvignon Blanc, a 2023 Sauvignon Blanc and Sémillon blend, and a 2023 Chardonnay. On the red side we covered a 2021 Merlot, a 2023 Malbec, a 2019 Cabernet Sauvignon, and finally their 2021 and 2023 Syrah’s from Moon Mountain. On Wednesday, April 1, 2026, we interviewed Melissa Stackhouse once again. Melissa is the Winemaker at Dutton Goldfield. During the interview, we covered the winery’s 2025 vintage Pinot Blanc and one of their single-vineyard 2023 Chardonnay wines.
