Wine Review: This deep purple colored Merlot from Lasseter is a big boy wine. It opens with a cherry and violets bouquet with hints of plum pudding and faint moist pipe tobacco. On the palate, this wine is full bodied with integrated medium plus acidity. The mouthfeel is balanced, smooth, dense, and seamless. The flavor profile is a black licorice and concentrated blackberry blend with notes of espresso and graphite. We also detected hints of oak blueberry, and black cherry. The finish is dry, and its flavors, acidity, and its bold and dusty tannins stick around for a very long time. We would cellar this untamed and youthful wine in the near term. When you open it, decant it for at least an hour. Then pair this bold, yet excellent Merlot with well-marbled cowboy ribeye steak. Enjoy - KWGTP
